Niterói city is across Guanabara Bay from Rio de Janeiro, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, southeast region of Brazil. Known for its rich history and culture with monuments, beaches and a rich and varied heritage in arts and crafts, this 440-year city sees the traditional and the modern co-existing perfect harmony. Niterói is the second place with the largest number of works from renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer - second only to the entire Brazilian capital, Brasilia. The Niemeyer Way is a series of Architectural buildings along Niterói's Bayside, including the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Popular Theatre.
Niterói welcomes everyone with open arms. While the city evokes a feeling of warmth, it is the development in finance and naval industry that has put Niterói on the map. It is a modern metropolis well-serviced in terms of transport, hotels and restaurants, sightseeing, shopping, parks and recreational facilities.
Niterói is not serviced with airports. However, Rio de Janeiro has direct international connectivity from several major cities in the world. Niterói is only 08 miles away from Rio de Janeiro, across Guanabara Bay.
